The Gold souk in Dubai is store upon store of amazing gold jewllery and diamonds.
Most of it is way over the top (the top picture says it all, with different spelling, really) but it is all real gold and stones - it is heavily regulated.
It is pretty overwhelming and if you show a little interest in one piece you get bombarded.
There was an 8 carat diamond, among others. I figure if I keep cooking dinner I might be in luck!
