Jebel Hafeet is a mountain that is a 15kn drive to the south of Al Ain. It is a pretty hairy drive up and we have seen a few near misses and unfortunately not misses! It would be a great road for a hill climb. From the summit the views on a clear day are stunning - surrounding wadis, desert plains and oases. The top is only 1180 metres high but considering Al Ain is 300 metres above sea level - the views are really impressive. There is a Sheik's palace on the way up which is perched on the most perfect spot, but the photos don't really show the hugeness of it! It's all pretty reminiscent of James Bond!
At the top there's a big car park and kiosk, I really want to find out how we can organise a hill climb and burn out competition at the the top! Summer Nats - UAE style!
